Membership and profile: first steps

24 September 2026 updated · 2 min read · 22 views

1. Apply

  1. Click the Join the Network link in the top right.
  2. Enter your first name, last name, username, city, email, and password (at least 8 characters). Your username will appear in your profile URL and cannot be changed later.
  3. Confirm that you have read the terms of use and privacy policy, and click the Create My Account button.

2. Wait for approval

Membership is free, but each application is approved by an administrator. You will receive an email when your application is received. You will receive both an email and a notification when it is approved; then you can log in to your account with Log In. You cannot log in with an account that is pending approval. If you don't see the email, check your junk (spam) folder.

3. Complete your profile

In the Settings → Profile section:

  • upload a profile picture and cover image (JPG, PNG, or WebP),
  • add your title or role, institution, city, and a short About Me text,
  • enter your Interests separated by commas (e.g., drip irrigation, cotton, export),
  • add your website and social media link.

A complete profile makes it easier for other members to get to know you. If you plan to attend B2B meetings or a fair, also fill out the Business profile tab.

4. Demographic information (optional)

The Demographic information field in profile settings (gender, age range, province/region, participant type, sector) is completely optional, and each has an option for “I prefer not to say”. This information will not be visible on your profile; it will only be used in project reports as a collective number, with groups of fewer than five people hidden.

5. Choose who sees it

Profile visibility in Settings → Privacy:

  • Public: visitors can also see your profile.
  • Members only: only logged-in members can see your profile.
  • Private (only me): only platform administrators can see your profile page besides you.

6. Say hello to the network

Join groups that interest you and make a short post introducing yourself in the feed: what do you produce, what are you experienced in, what are you looking for?
